In the year of the great family beekeeping anniversary, Ljubivoje D. Vlajić, known as “Ralić,” Života Jović’s grandson and the eldest family member, together with his descendants and heirs, decided in 2023, after approximately a decade of beekeeping on his farm, to establish the beekeeping brand Medhon under the VFM2 Group, thereby professionalizing the beekeeping segment.

Thus, we have continued the tradition of family beekeeping and the love for bees, which our grandfather’s ancestor, Života Jović, known as Žika Anđin (1904–1988), was engaged in even before World War II, along with his contemporaries. From 1946, during the post-war years, Grandfather Života revived this family tradition and passed it on as a legacy to his descendants.

An interesting discovery we made in 2021, when the youngest member of our family, Teodor Vlajić, was born, is that our ancestor, a relative from our grandmother’s side, Života Milovanović, later Abbot of Vitovnica Monastery, Metodije Milovanović, father of General Milan Ž. Milovanović, was the initiator one of the founders of the first Serbian Beekeeping Society in 1897. This gives us an added obligation and motivation to take this business seriously and with full dedication, ensuring our customers receive the highest quality natural honey.
